Problems with IIS7

Sep 30, 2009 at 10:20 AM

Hi, i recently upgraded my web server which now uses iis7.  Everything seemed to be going fine until i noticed that the this control was struggling when uploading lots of large files.  I looked for a solution and someone suggested adding:

<system.webServer>
  <security>
   <requestFiltering>
    <requestLimits maxAllowedContentLength="104857600" />
   </requestFiltering>
  </security>
 </system.webServer>

to the web.config file but this doesn't appear to do alot.  I emailed myself the exception thrown in the http web handler and it gave the following:

  • Thread was being aborted.
  • The process cannot access the file 'D:\hosting\Temp\Test1.jpg' because it is being used by another process.

I also added the everyone (full control) permission on the folder to test it wasn't a permission issue but that doesn't appear to be the case either.

I'd aprpeciate if you could help.  Thanks

Hi, the problem has been fixed it was an issue with my http handler requiring sessions but the sessions were timing out during the upload.  I simply removed the need for sessions in my handler but i could have increased the session timeout limit.
